Let's Stay Home
...because there's no place like it.

I love going out, but over the past few years I've really just accepted that I'm a bit of a homebody. I strongly believe that everything in life should be done in moderation so staying home all the time is definitely not a healthy choice, but it's O K A Y to enjoy it! Sometimes I find I have to push myself to go out and I'll be happy I did...but other times I'd really rather stay home and be cozy! Do you prefer a nice evening at home over going out? Do you ever feel guilty for being a bit of a homebody?
If you're sometimes a little unsure that your choice to be a homebody is not mainstream enough or you feel a little defensive about preferring a cozy night-in to a night-on-the-town, it's time to reclaim a little pride in your homebody status!

Nobody Has It All Figured Out

This is universal – millionaires, students, the cool kid, the party animal, the introvert and everyone in between has more to their story than the superficial restricted one you see. Never dismiss them as having it easy if you don’t know the entire story.

Ampersand Design Studio
Carrie & Morgan are the two gals behind the full-service Ampersand Design Studio. They specialize in surface pattern design, identity design & stationary products. All of their products are bright, colourful and super cheerful. Just up my alley :) After stumbling across a few of their items over Pinterest, I found myself exploring their entire website, Etsy shops & services. I wish I could post all of their products but there's just too much! Here's some of my favourites:
1) Black & White Platters (these should have been included in my Serve in Style post)

3) iPhone Cases: You know those people who look at racks of shoes and drool? This is my rack of shoes. Serious eye-candy. As I've mentioned before, (here and here) I have a serious love & addiction for iPhone cases. I WANT THEM ALL!

It's Coffee O'Clock
Early Monday mornings always call for a serious cup of coffee. As I was curating for the company I work for, I stumbled across these gems. Remember when I showed you Hand Stamped Silverware? These are all coffee themed. How cute are they? I'm loving them!

Well Said, Maya Angelou
Because of our routines, we forget that life is an ongoing adventure - Maya Angelou. I love this quote & sometimes really need the reminder. With work, relationships, routines...life can get a little hectic! I need to be more conscious of this & enjoy life to the fullest. I hope this inspires you to do the same :)

*This image of me was taken last summer during a California road trip. I remember feeling so happy, free and fortunate.

Words at Home
Little billboards, playful pillows & more, today's post is all about adding fun wordy items to your home.
1) WordBiLLY (typography turned sculpture): Do you know what a BILLY is? It's kind of like a billboard, only little. This series of word sculptures are all made by hand & painted in cute colours. They offer a great way to show your love for a city or to simply add some typography lovin' to your walls. Want to customize your own? Click here.
2. Scrabble Pillows: Here's a fun take on the classic board game. Use your imagination and enjoy mix & matching these playful pillows for any room in the house.
3. Hand Stamped Silverware: How fun & adorable are these? Made by Milk & Honey Luxuries, you can find a large selection on their Etsy shop. All of their silverware is created using FDA & NSF approved 'Food-Safe' methods, (meaning you can actually use their pieces & not just display them).
Awesome Sauce.
4. Decals: Decals have been around for a while but have become really popular lately. What are they? Think of them as venyl stickers that can be applied & removed without causing any damage to the surface. Walls, tiles, bathtubs, floors, mirrors, furniture, glass, doors...no smooth surface can escape the sweet decal sticker. Since they are super easy to come off, there is no permanent commitment that needs to be made. I'm loving these home decals, they add such a fun & creative touch:

Fancy Friday; Black Edition
As a Social Media Manager, I spend hours on end scouring the web and falling in love with so many different things that I come across. Sometimes these 'things' don't fit into any category but are uniquely wonderful on their own. Whether it's a beautiful design, a cool product or a website that is worthy of sharing, Fancy Friday is a weekly round-up of those 'things' I fancy.

Here we go:
1. Think Outside the Box: I love this print from Scribble. Not only meant for creatives, I think this saying can apply to anyone. Don't always think about the obvious- remind yourself to step outside the box and explore. You never know what you'll find! (18 x24. Double hit of Black for super blackness, $19)

2. Ping Pong Table: This Limited Edition Ping Pong Table by James Perse is sleek! Anyone who knows me well, knows I LOVE a good game of ping pong. Unlike the standard 'green', a black & wood version is mighty fine. It's hand-crafted from environmentally farmed solid teak, and even serves as a dining or conference table. Simply remove the net & cover it with an optional teak table top and you're ready to get functional. It even comes with branded paddles & balls. I'd love to play on this!

4. Flat Top: I love this look! This polish by Deborah Lippmann gives any nail lacquer a quick makeover with a cool matte finish. It also protects your nails from chipping & fading. (0.5 oz. bottle, $20)

5. Two Person Umbrella: If you're like me, you're probably thinking "COOOOOL! I WANT THAT!" because we've all been there. 2 people + 1 (normal) umbrella = not a good combo. Let's face it, some of us are umbrella hogs and therefore, my hair gets wet & it ain't cool. This is the ultimate umbrella & you won't care to share ever again! Who would have thought I'd get so excited over an umbrella? ($60)
