I left town for a few days to (work) and enjoy some rays! I also took a trip down to Wellington to visit one of my best friends. She showed me around the horse town and even took me to my very first polo game. It was a nice and very appreciated vacation but as always, it's good to be home!

NEW YEAR, NEW POSTS! I couldn't think of a better way to start the New Year than with my family. Being on vacation doesn't hurt either :)
“Life is funny isn’t it? Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, just when you finally begin to plan something, get excited about something, and feel like you know what direction you’re heading in, the paths change, the signs change, the wind blows the other way, north is suddenly south, and east is west, and you’re lost. It is so easy to lose your way, to lose direction." -Cecelia Ahern

Aside from totally destroying my phone (see picture below), these past couple weeks have been filled with such great and wild memories. I'm really loving my girlfriends these days. It's true what they say, girls just want to have fun.
I also think it's safe to say that summer is officially over. September snuck its way in wayyy too quickly...and brought the cool weather with it. Goodbye shorts, sunnies and delicious ice cream for breakfast. What will you miss most about summer?

This summer has been quite interesting, (good & bad) but let's focus on the good! The past two weekends I was lucky enough to get out of town. I went to Toronto to visit family and New York to visit my best friend! Add some coffee, shopping, ice cream, rebelliousness, hot tennis players, and some drinks to the mix and you've got my life lately. Cheers to LIFE!
I love going out, but over the past few years I've really just accepted that I'm a bit of a homebody. I strongly believe that everything in life should be done in moderation so staying home all the time is definitely not a healthy choice, but it's O K A Y to enjoy it! Sometimes I find I have to push myself to go out and I'll be happy I did...but other times I'd really rather stay home and be cozy! Do you prefer a nice evening at home over going out? Do you ever feel guilty for being a bit of a homebody?
If you're sometimes a little unsure that your choice to be a homebody is not mainstream enough or you feel a little defensive about preferring a cozy night-in to a night-on-the-town, it's time to reclaim a little pride in your homebody status!

Although the weather has been hot & cold lately, it still feels like summer has arrived! Blue skies, beautiful flowers all around, and lots of fun activities. My favourite thing has been going for long walks outside. It's such a pleasure when it's warm out...I could walk for hours! This past weekend I had an engagement party so it was nice to dress up, be with friends and sip on cocktails :)

This week consisted of:
1) Running errands. Whenever I come home from vacation, I always feel like I'm behind on everything.
2) My 2 older brothers live out of town (Florida & Toronto) and are both in this weekend. It feels so nice to have the whole family together.
3) I got my first DSLR camera. I've been researching and wanting one for quite some time now. I got the Canon T5i + 2 lenses. Higher quality photos on the blog? Yes!
4) It's Grand Prix in Montreal so the city's buzzing. Last night I went to Macaroni Bar to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was wild! Packed with people & awesome music. Gotta love a good party. 5) I received my Alt Summit goodie package this week. (Finally!)
I hope you're all having a wonderful week :)
On a side note, have you heard the song Blurred Lines? I think I've been living under a rock because I heard it for the first time today. I'm seriously obsessed. Take a listen here.

This past week my boyfriend and I spontaneously booked a quick trip to Florida. We've been meaning to go for a while now but life kept getting in the way. I have a place down there so all we had to do was find a cheap flight, rent a car and pack our bags. It was such a treat to get away for a few days to enjoy the beautiful weather and relax. We both tend to be workaholics so forcing ourselves to step away from our computers and put our phones on silent was much needed (and appreciated). Sometimes it's hard to 'unplug' from the crazy connected world, but it really does feel good. I'll admit, we didn't unplug the entire time (that would just be too hard) but we would when we'd shop, walk on the beach, have meals etc. It was nice and definitely allowed for more 'active listening' and bonding. We had such a lovely time. Short & Sweet :)
Do you find it difficult to disconnect from your phone/computer?
Do you ever set specific times when you step away or turn it off? Let me know in the comments below :)
ps. I'm on a plane right now...thank you American Airlines for having wifi!
Almost everyone has problems and puts on a brave face – don’t presume they have it easy. You see of each person what they let you see. You have no idea what they are going through or what they had to put up with to be in a situation that you can consider “easy”.
This is universal – millionaires, students, the cool kid, the party animal, the introvert and everyone in between has more to their story than the superficial restricted one you see. Never dismiss them as having it easy if you don’t know the entire story.

The past couple weeks consisted of: 1) Trying to cure my ear infection. My right ear has been blocked for 2 weeks now and it's driving me crazy! I'm on antibiotics and am using ear drops but still no progress. Anyone have a magic cure to speed up the process? I'll love you forever... 2) Trip to Toronto. My boyfriend & I drove down to Toronto for a few days this week. It was full of work, walking, shopping, drinks and spending time with family. I'm planning on moving to Toronto in August so it was nice to spend a few days there. (or shall I say 'here' since I'm still here!) 3) 3 days of ALT SUMMIT! This deserves a post of its own but you can read more about it here.
I've decided to add a new series to my blog called 'Life Lately: According to my iPhone'. (title idea from one of my favourite bloggers, Love Taza) It's a way to share what I've been up to and give you guys a little more insight into my personal life. I hope you all had a wonderful day, and remember.. if you're healthy, life ain't so bad :)
