Fever, aches and pains. Being sick is never fun :( You really realize just how important your health is when you're not well. All those problems that seemed so big, seem really small right now. All I can do is rest and drink lots of fluids. Here's hoping to a good night sleep and feeling better in the morning. I hope you all had a wonderful day, and remember.. if you're healthy, life ain't so bad :)
Do feel stuck in a rut? When was the last time you tried something NEW? What type of habits do you have? Apparently, it takes about 30 days to form a new habit or to change an old one. Do you have any habits you'd like to change? What type of new habits would you like to have? Tomorrow marks the FIRST day of May...the perfect time to start a 30 day challenge.
What type of challenge? It's important to pick a challenge that is somewhat small (and not too many) because they are more likely to stick. Here are some ideas:
1) Give someone a compliment each day 2) Talk to one stranger each day 3) Take one picture each day 4) Write a blog post each day 5) Take a 30 minute walk each day 6) Meditate for 20 minutes each day 7) Try a new recipe each day 8) Read a chapter each day 9) Social Media Detox (No Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) 10) Pick one bad habit that you have and ditch it for 30 days 11) Take a cold shower each day 12) Take the stairs every chance you get 13) Don't lie for 30 days 14) Do something that scares you each day 15) Don't complain for 30 days 16) Stop biting your nails for 30 days 17) Stretch each day 18) Drink 8 glasses of water each day 19) Wake up at 8 am each day 20) No junk food for 30 days
MY MAY 30 DAY CHALLENGES: 1) Walk my dog every day for at least 30 minutes (that means a good walk for me and him)
2) Take one picture each day (Follow along on Instagram)
Will you join me? SHARE your challenge(s) in the comments below, I'd love to hear them :)
Oh, and before you start, watch this TedTalk for some inspiration:
Did my friend really walk him or has he been lazying about it?
Did my dog get enough activity today?
What is he doing when he's home alone? Is he sleeping?
These are questions that led to the creation of FitBark, a small device that clips onto your dog's collar to track their daily activity. This is especially useful when you're not home or traveling. You'll be able to see exactly how much exercise your dog is getting, and more importantly, if it's enough. The FitBark calculates your dog's daily activity and transfers it to your smartphone or 'home base' station that is placed in your home. You'll also be given a daily BarkScore for the day which basically let's you know if you dog met his daily goal. The FitBark comes in 5 colours, is water resistant and only weights .022 lb.
Watch the video below to see it in action:
What do you think? Would YOU get a FitBark for your furry friend? It seems like a good idea...I hope my Jesse is getting enough exercise :)

As a Social Media Manager, I spend hours on end scouring the web and falling in love with so many different things that I come across. Sometimes these 'things' don't fit into any category but are uniquely wonderful on their own. Whether it's a beautiful design, a cool product or a website that is worthy of sharing, Fancy Friday is a weekly round-up of those 'things' I fancy.
Here we go:
1) Rose Gold Headphones: Who said headphones couldn't be cute? I'm loving these headphones by Frends. Made with soft white leather & rose hold metal. Very funky! 2) Bommel Carpet: Bommel is a German word that means POM-POM! Clearly the perfect name for this colourful carpet. How fun and cozy does it look? 3) Luxury Swing: Swinging indoors? Love it! Not to mention that colourful seat. 4) Lying Down Laptop Stand: Let's be honest, sometimes all we want to do is lie down after a long day. Now you can relax while you work or browse the Internet. I wonder if this is actually comfortable...won't your arms get tired? 5) Nightlight Portable Balls: This is great for kids who need a little nightlight. There's nothing electronic in them, so they won't get warm or break. The glow fades to dark after about 30 minutes, perfect for keeping those monsters away. 6) Massaging Bed Rest: Another great item to encourage resting. This bed rest has a built in massager to help relieve sore and tired muscles. It's got a bending light, a cup holder and even side pockets for magazines or papers. Sounds pretty legit to me! 7) Exercise Ball Chair: This chair promotes active sitting while strengthening your back and ab muscles. Working out as you work? Why not! 8) Joulies: Coffee too hot? Use a Joulie! I first saw Coffee Joulies on Shark Tank and instantly fell in love. What are they? These beans cool coffee to the right temperature faster and then keep it there longer. That way, you'll always have the perfect temperature drink without having to wait or drink too fast! How does it do that? The Joulies store the heat and keep your coffee at 140℉ (the perfect drinking temperature). The more heat you feed your Joulies, the longer they'll keep your coffee warm. Need. Did you know we all have 'reflex points' in our feet that connect to our entire body? Apparently if you stimulate these points, it can help relieve certain tensions. For example, if you're having lower backache, simply massage your heals. This chart was illustrated by the talented Erin Jang. Check out the different 'symptoms' down below and see if you could 'massage-it-away'.
