Life Lately: According to my iPhone

'Life Lately: According to my iPhone' is a series that allows me to share what I've been up to and give you guys a little more insight into my personal life. Most of these end up on my Instagram, so if you'd like to follow along/see more, you can follow me here.

This past week my boyfriend and I spontaneously booked a quick trip to Florida. We've been meaning to go for a while now but life kept getting in the way. I have a place down there so all we had to do was find a cheap flight, rent a car and pack our bags. It was such a treat to get away for a few days to enjoy the beautiful weather and relax. We both tend to be workaholics so forcing ourselves to step away from our computers and put our phones on silent was much needed (and appreciated). Sometimes it's hard to 'unplug' from the crazy connected world, but it really does feel good. I'll admit, we didn't unplug the entire time (that would just be too hard) but we would when we'd shop, walk on the beach, have meals etc. It was nice and definitely allowed for more 'active listening' and bonding. We had such a lovely time. Short & Sweet :)

Do you find it difficult to disconnect from your phone/computer?
Do you ever set specific times when you step away or turn it off?
Let me know in the comments below :)

ps. I'm on a plane right now...thank you American Airlines for having wifi!

  1. I find it so hard to disconnect— especially when my iPhone is able to alert me for texts, calls, emails, tweets, Facebook notifications, etc., etc...

Lately I've been writing out a schedule of when the phone goes off— for a few hours in the morning (when I want to get writing done), and after a certain time at night. Plus, I've made designated hours for checking my email. Life is a little more stress free now!
